ELECTRICAL SUPPLY

Goodwin submersible slurry pumps are fitted with a 30 kw 1450 RPM motor. The motor is designed for 3 phase 50HZ direct on line starting. When placing an order the motor would be wound to suit the customer’s supply requirements. i.e. 380V, 415V, 500V or 550V

Benefits of a Goodwin fully automatic control panel when used in fully automatic mode:
  • No operator needed to start and stop the pump, thus eliminating the problem of flooding

  • It extends the life of the pump as it will not be left running on snore for extended periods of timeThe Goodwin panel does this using an electronic low current relay which detects when the pump is running on a light load (i.e. Snore).

    • With low current sensed the pump is stopped.

    • When the level rises and activates a mercury float switch the pump starts
      up again

    • When low level is reached - the low current sensor turns off the pump

  • This eliminates the requirement for a low level float switch which is prone to sticking. (a timer can also be used instead of a high level mercury float switch)
Other benefits:
  • The control panel protects against current overload and variation in the voltage supply. Preventing motor burn out that can occur with low voltages due to the increased current that is drawn at a low voltage.

  • It has a current operated relay, which can detect an imbalance between any of the three phases. The current relay protects the pump and operator should any moisture enter the motor or the cable is damaged minimising any repair cost.

  • It has phase discrimination to protect the pump from reverse rotation after it has been correctly installed initially.

  • There is an hours run meter to help predict the life of wear components to help prevent non essential maintenance .
